Life for Agnes and Eleanor is shaken up when Agnes' former boss and secret crush comes to Tadium. Before long, the lady sleuths have more on their hands to contend with as goons roll into town and bullets begin to fly.

  • Couldn't finish it

    I got to chapter 8 and gave up. This was a best seller? Really? I'm a copy editor, and I just can't bear to read books with grammar and punctuation errors, poor word choices (words that don't mean what the author seems to think they mean) and things that make no sense. Agnes and her friend go to an ice cream shop and order "the usual." A couple paragraphs later, she estimates the order will set her back about $20. If they order it often enough for the server to know what they want, they must have paid for it quite a few times before, so how could Agnes not know the exact cost already? How can an author craft a detective story when she can't even catch her own mistakes? Maybe the story is decent, but with all the errors tripping me up, I just can't make it to the end to find out.

    After reading this first book, I couldn’t wait to start reading another with these outrageous ladies and their escapades. Timid old ladies they are not. Wonderful!

    Enjoyable read with a delightful heroine and her trusty, if a little crazy, side kick. Good story line, stayed on track, worked in additional characters for color and depth. I loved this book, stayed up way too late several nights reading just one more chapter. I look forward to more from this author.

    I enjoyed reading this book. I love the banter between Aggie and El. I would recommend this book. I couldn't put it down. I started reading the typical cozy mysteries a few months ago, and this author and her mysteries really hold my attention. Book 2 was very good too. I will continue reading the other books in the series.

    I couldn't stop reading this book once I started. I don't usually like mysteries but the unique main character & humor added in - it was great. I am on the way to buy the 2nd book in the series.

    This book brought fond memories to me.i had a best friend for 50 years,but she passed away 2 yr ago on my birthday .i still think she picked that day on purpose,she always had to get in the last word. Aggie and Eleanor remind me so much of my friend and I.her name was Carlo and she was 10 years my senior and a blond,my name is Linda and I am a redhead.we used to refer to ourselves as Lucy and Ethel We had so much fun together ,we laughed we fought we cried. I was the one who always talked her into doing something we shouldn't have been doing an got us into trouble It was such fun reading about these two old ladies it brought back fond memories of my friend and I together. Thank you for an enjoyable read. I will continue to read about these two dear old ladies ,Linda Abeler
