    Mike puts into words what I am thinking but cannot say. I didn't think I would enjoy this book as much as I did but every chapter was riveting. Being a few years older, I could relate to his early years but he took his life in a fascinating direction that I never could have imagined. Whether you agree with his views or not, his opinions must be heard so that each and everyone of us can choose our own beliefs.

    Starts with a Midwestern upbringing well remembered and elaborates on being young adult in the Reagan years. Along the way, there are many surprising facts and revealing anecdotes about not just Moore himself, but also about the latter half of the 20th century. Having my memory jogged allowed me to connect some of the dots of how we got to where we are today, which was surely one of Moore's intents. Really loved reading this book, because all of the above is delivered by the author with humor, insight, gratitude and affection for people and places he has encountered.

    This is the first book I have read by Michael Moore and it will not be the last. It made me laugh, it made me cry. It brought back memories of my Catholic school upbringing and I could relate to the early stories. Keep up the great work, Michael!

    I haven't even finished the book yet, and am listening to it with Michael Moore narrating, and it's just wonderful. I've laughed uproariously, and cried when he described his mother's story in the hospital. All the stories are interesting and amazing. Imagine being a boy in the US Capitol and being helped by Bobby Kennedy! Anyway, I highly recommend it, especially if you've had any negative view of Michael Moore through media outlets. He loves this country, and is trying to change it for the better.

    This is the first book of Michael Moore's that I've read. Although I've heard of the controversial man, in addition to never reading one of his books, I have seen none of his movies. I plan on changing all that. I am anxious to get started on another book. Any Michael Moore fans want to suggest which one to read next? I'm excited that I read these stories about his life before being presented with any of his other works. I believe this will allow me to have a better understanding of why he does every (sometimes crazy) thing that he does. He has so much passion inside. I wish the rest of us had at least half of it. This world would be a better place. Keep up the good work Mr. Moore!
