    This was a very entertaining book moving from scene to scene allowing you to capture in your mind the events clearly as if you were part of the book. Very good with a twist at the end

    Connelly spins a great yarn, a bit out there, but believable. Fast paced, good characters who stay consistent, and an intriguing view of the law and the games people play. How books never fail to entertain and inform. Enjoy!

    There is no good way to write a review without spoiling the ending, but anyone who has read this knows what I'm alluding to. The format is consistent with his other work. Nice character development, technically well-written, and fun to read. A little preachy, but the ending..well it just doesn't work for me.

    Great read. Enjoyed the pace and character development. However, Mickey as a politician? I don't think so, compromise and being beholden to others is not the Mick that I've come to know and root for. Good luck Michael with the new direction, all I can say is Maggie must be special in the sack.

    I've always found Mickey Haller less interesting than Harry Bosch, but Connelly has done a good job of adding some dimension to the Lincoln Lawyer here. This is a finely crafted legal novel, with a lot of detail in how a defense attorney puts together and manages a trial. There's a chess-game underway all the time and MC does a great job of getting into the mind of a trial lawyer. He's done his homework and to build a credible tale focusing on the mortgage finance industry, he's mastered the details. Haller's ambiguous relationship with his ex-wife is handled well and effectively woven into the plot... not the tacked on distraction it has been in the past. Well worth the read.

    Another awesome Connelly book. If a fictional escape is your goal, he never disappoints. I read the entire series 2 summers ago - one of the best reading summers I've had! Now I eagerly anticipate the new releases. When I start one, I'm always leery that it will disappoint, but 5th Witness is another winner! Keep up the good work, and keep providing us a great means of escape. Thanks for a good one. I thought Bosch was the only character I wanted to explore, but I am equally engaged with Haller now!
