    This book is absolutely amazing. A page-turner from start to finish, with complex story lines and huge reveals every other page, you will not sleep when hooked onto this book. I, myself, just finished this book at 1:30 a.m. Last night, and my prom is today and I'm absolutely exhausted. SO WORTH IT.

    Wow, enthralling, sweeping epic. Engrossing characters you need to follow. Brent Weeks has written a fun book that you don't want to end. Thank goodness he's written a sequel. Any fantasy lover will love this world. And we've only just begun to learn about it. I want more.... You've got to read this .... come on, it's got a maaa..p

    I discovered Brent Weeks about 6 months ago and blew through The Night Angel Trilogy. Best new series I've read in years. The Black Prism took in to another level. I couldn't put this book down. Memorable and engaging characters, with real world fears and flaws. I'd recommend this book to anyone. If your teetering on the edge of a decision, buy it!!! You wont regret it.

    Really kind of a mess. Has some good ideas in parts but doesn't work as a whole. Cliched characters I can live with, but it just wasn't a fun read.

    If you have read The Night Angel Trilogy, you will not want to miss this new book. If you haven't then you ought to read them, and then read this book too. Brent Week is definitely proving that he is a great writer with vivid imagination and original ideas and can put them into words that will captivate you and transport you into this new world he has created in your mind. Definitely recommended reading for any fantasy fans. And if you are not a fantasy reader, maybe this book will start you on an exciting journey you will not regret.

    Amazing book. Really liked the night angel trilogy and this is on par. Couldn't stop reading once I started. Had to force myself to turn it off so I could sleep, work, eat, etc.

    It's hard to put a finger on what makes Brent Weeks' writing so hard to put down. One thing I can say for sure is that there are plenty of unique ideas. Moreover, here is an author unafraid to break the norm and reverse stereotypes. I have to say that I did see all the twists coming, but it was a good "hah, I guessed right" sort of feeling.
