    I've read every Connelly and this is the first disappointment. I'm trying not to give too much away, but the entire plot hinges on a coincidence that stretches disbelief into implausibility. The book feels rushed and poorly thought through.

    It is a bit frustrating - the last book (the narrows) was brilliant, and this one was really not good. The language was awkward, just not flowing. I wonder if Connelly has a ghost writer helping him to make deadlines and that guy is just not up to scratch? And then Harry had to live through a lot of personal drama - none of which was in the least bit believable. Still a big Harry Bosch fan, but man! I hope Connelly gets his stuff together in the drop....

    This book was impossible to put down, I was up late every night reading it. One of the best Harry Bosch books yet. Kept you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommend this book.

    Connelly makes it look easy...intricate plotting and a fast pace. He's been doing it since Black Echo and he just keeps getting better and better.

    I'm almost 30. Never really been a reader. About 3 months ago my father in law turned me on to Michael Connelly. I only have 3 books left to read of his and have yet to be disappointed. Each book gets more and more intriguing. I will be disappointed however, when I run out of Connelly books.
