“They’re baaaaccck,” Tracy sing-songed as she passed by where I was trying to study.

I didn’t look up. “Who?”

“Them.” She gestured with her chin.

I finally looked up to see the small group of Marines coming into the restaurant where I worked part-time. I snorted and looked back down at my book. “I guess they can come in if they want to,” I said, turning a page. “This is a restaurant and they have to eat.”

“And flirt with everything in a skirt.” She paused, looking over at me. “Aren’t you going over there? They are sitting down in your section.”

Damn, she was right. I closed my book. So much for studying. I grabbed the menus and headed over to the table where the men sat, talking. As I approached, I took a moment to check them out. They were military judging by their short buzzed haircuts. There was a base nearby and a lot of the personnel came in for lunch or dinner with their families or friends. Between them and the locals, this place stayed pretty busy.

“Good evening, gentlemen,” I said as I placed a menu in front of each man.

They looked up, smiling and nodding in greeting.

“What would you like to drink?”

One of the men, a handsome blond with clear blue eyes, looked up at me. “You,” he answered, giving me a wink. The other men laughed at his joke. I gave him a smile.

“You’re funny,” I answered.

    The book was okay until the end when she got back together with him after he cheated on her and left for 3 years. Seriously terrible writing and so unrealistic.

    I read this book like I was going to the chair. I so related to Alessandra and her fears about relationships. The chemistry between Trenton and Alessandra was palpable. This was such a smooth read. Kathleen Hope really did an outstanding job on this book. Love, waiting and forgiveness came to a head in the end. Highly recommend this book.

    First of all I here's this thing called proofreading. You find all of those pesky typos that turn sentences into collections of mismatched words that annoy readers. Second, really? I thought the book started off pretty well, but when the heroine overhears and sees the scene with the hero and his ex, the book turned into unrealistic trash from there. He learns about the baby and it raps up in less than a chapter. The ideal picture-perfect ending just comes from nowhere with no development.

    The best thing I can say about this book is that the writing was mediocre. The plot was lackluster and boring. The main character, Alessandra's brother and family were confusing and didn't seem to care much about her. The supposed "hero" cheated on her and then walks back, three years later, and Alessandra just forgives him like it's no big deal. I wouldn't recommend this book at all. If it wasn't free, I would seriously regret buying it. As it stands, I feel like I wasted my time reading it.
