    Cassidy Porter the son of a convicted serial killer, who has been living off the grid since he was 9 years old and outcasted by his small hometown. Bryann Cadogan has been grieving the loss of her fiance for two years, finally ready to say "Goodbye" she travels to Maine and embarks on a journey that will change her life. This book took an age-old debate (Nature vs. Nurture) and twisted into a love story. It was interesting reading about how Cassidy and his mother and grandfather survived living off the grid and the grief and struggles he feels for just being born. Can you overcome genetics? Can you change who you are meant to be? There were moments in this book where I was questing what would happen and then in the next instance I couldn't get enough. The story really starts to pick up for me in the last 1/3 of the book and has a turn of events that you were hoping would happen but weren't quite sure that it would. Everything isn't always as it seems and things have a way of working out better than we all expected. **Review by Christiann**

    I can’t express how much I loved this story. I started reading this story on the Radish app. Each week I eagerly awaited the next chapter to be released. It was like waiting for my favorite TV show to come on every week. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. When I heard Katy was going to release Unloved as a complete book, I was beyond excited. It’s a Beautifully heart wrenching story that will tear you apart but made whole by the beautiful love story between Cass and Brynn. Never had I read a book that had me reaching for tissues but eagerly turning the pages. I want to say so much about this story but will refrain because I don’t want to give anything away. Katy weaves a beautiful story about a man and woman who believe that they would or should go through life unloved. It’s through a turn of events that they find rebirth for themselves and love for one another. That through each other they find the courage to live and love again. Such a wonderful story. Cassy and Brynn will forever have a place in my heart and my bookshelf.

    Katy Regnery broke my heart early on in this story but pieced it together as well. I read Unloved straight through and my emotions were all over the place. They started with fear for a little boy and heartbreak for a kind and beautiful man. Katy is a master storyteller and this book is no exception. This is a must read!

    First let me say as with all of my reviews I will certainly strive to give you a vibrant image of how fantastic Unloved is without any spoilers to this story. That being said, this is probably going to be one of the most difficult reviews I have ever written because there is so much to say about Unloved that I simply won’t be able to articulate how truly exceptional it is other than simply saying: YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!! In typical Katy Regnery fashion, her characters are extraordinary. You will find yourself attached to them from the moment you pick up your iPad leaving you with such an intensified curiosity as to how their lives will progress that you won’t want to put it down until you see the words “The End.” To be honest, after having seen the cover of Unloved, so different from those which have preceded it, as well as reading the synopsis, I was unsure of exactly what to expect with this new release. I’ve been following Ms. Regnery for years ever since her first series, Heart of Montana, and she quickly attained her rightful place at the top of my “must read” authors list with her knack for lighthearted romance as well as her more serious modern fairytales. As such, it’s never a question of whether or not I will read one of her novels; only how quickly I can get my hands on it. As I began reading Unloved I could almost immediately sense how different this story was going to be from her other novels. And now, after having reached the end, I am in complete awe of Katy Regnery. The amazing development and progression her writing style has taken over the years is absolutely magical and this story exhibits exactly that. The depth of development of all her characters is always spectacular, but Cassidy and Brynn are remarkable. I could feel the immediate emotional attachment to them both from the inception of this story. Both Brynn and Cassidy suffer from emotionally tragic events that have occurred in their past. But from the moment Cassidy sees her, he feels a connection to Brynn he has never before experienced, though he knows he must keep his distance. But when circumstances dictate that he has no choice but to step out of the shadows to help her, he knows it is what he must do. From the moment Brynn looks into his unusual eyes (this will make sense when you read the book), she begins to feel an undeniable connection to Cassidy as well. As Brynn overcomes the hurt from her past and begins to express what she feels for him, Cassidy fights with his growing feelings for Brynn as he knows to the depths of his soul that because of who he is, forever is not an option for him. Will Brynn’s persistence and determination ultimately lead her to a path of finding a way to break through to Cassidy and prove to him that he is not the man he is convinced he is, and that they truly belong together to share a lifetime of love they both deserve? Using the term “love story” just does not cover it with Unloved. Though don’t get me wrong, it is first and foremost just that. But with that Katy Regnery has also given us moments of on the edge of your seat suspense intertwined with heartbreak and a touchingly deep, to the depths of your soul, romance. Unloved will make you cry as sadness and a sorrowful lump forms in your throat. But her gift as a writer will also leave with you tears of happiness when you realize that her characters will find the happily ever after that belongs to them. So though I will call Unloved a love story, I will also describe it as magical, extraordinary and so far beyond what Ms. Regnery has given to us in the past. It transcends the simple love story universe and travels far into the cosmos.

    Amazing. Darker. Hopeful. Gritty. And the one set of words I rarely say - I never saw that coming. Katy Regnery once again delivers the best in reading contemporary romance, and does so brilliantly with this unexpected tale. First, do not be wary of the title. You'll get a HEA that you know the characters will deserve as Ms Regnery never lets her readers down. But getting there? Mind.Blown I feel that I am a rarity amongst the readership where I want - no - I demand that there is equal strength in the main characters. I felt I understood the whys of where Brynn and Cass are when their paths cross due to the perfect depth in the delivery of the back story. Brynn. She is the ideal in a heroine I look for. Soft and vulnerable when needed, but delivers a strength that moves the story to an amazing conclusion. She's the friend you count on. The person you wish the best of everything. The woman you admire for her quiet tenacity and perseverance. The reader knows: She feels unloved. Cass. He is the troubled hero. The one you want to fix and make things better. Yet, you comprehend that with circumstance and time, why this man is this man. He is the gentle giant who will give the shirt off his back. The person you wish the best of everything but understand why not possible. The man you admire for his strength of belief and devotion. The reader knows: He believes he should be unloved. What happens when two people who have the best reasons for being unloved find each other in unusual circumstances? You have this story. When I say that Ms Regnery writing is magical, I am not talking about a separation from reality. I want to be entertained, but I don't handle when the writing veers and tries too hard. This story - wow - it kept me compelled to continue until wee hours of the night because I was equal vested in their outcome. The reading was paced where the pages flowed flawlessly. I finished the story feeling fulfilled as I always do with Katy's writing. And yet, this was different and intriguing to have me still thinking about it days after finishing. If you are a fan of Katy Regnery's Blueberry Lane/Heart of Montana series, this is a departure from those happy and delightful stories. But I implore you to read it because she delivers something equally if not better in this story. If you are a fan of Ms Regnery's fairytales, I know you will be enamored for this tale to join their ranks. Not a fan? You soon will be.
