    Only great authors can write totally different styles and genres successfully- and Jones does that here. The look at an apocalyptic society and how relationships both personal and societal change and yet remain the same is wonderfully thought out. If you are looking for her same type of book then don’t read. But if you want something different and a true can’t put down story? This is for you...

    A page turner I found very hard to put down. Probably the best book by Nora Roberts that I have ever read and I have read them all.

    I am a great fan of NR’s books and believe I’ve read close to every one, but this one’s TERRIBLE. An apocalyptic gloom and doom story without any depth of character development nor any fun dialog. With so many horrors and disasters t got to the point that I mostly didn’t even care what happened next. Sad example of her usual talent!

    I enjoyed the book. But this could easily just been a novella. A lot of extra people in it that were never really fleshed out. I’m hoping that the next book in this series will tie this one in. I will read, and look forward to the next one.

    I feel she stepped away from her standard “you matter to me” books, and invested more into the magic world, which I truly enjoy. The post-apocalyptic world was interesting; I have myself wondered what I would do if the world dramatically changed suddenly. This book takes those thoughts to fruition, and with interesting characters. Nice job, Nora! Now hurry up with book 2!!!
